For more than 30 years, the unique quartet Danças Ocultas has seduced and amazed audiences around the world with their diatonic accordions. Artur Fernandes, Filipe Cal, Filipe Ricardo and Francisco Miguel are intertwined with their instrument. They have an original approach to the accordion and deepen the sound with verve.

Their impressionistic folk has deep roots in Portuguese folk music, tango nuevo, classical music and jazz. Live, the emotion in their music comes through even more powerfully, enhanced by the sophisticated lighting design. The result is minimalist, profound soundscapes full of unexpected twists and compelling melancholy.

In 2012, Danças Ocultas enjoyed success on Belgian stages (including Leuven) with the eloquent Alento. Their new album is expected at the end of 2024.
