Songbooks

Belgian instrumental ensemble WÖR and the Swedish band Kongero collab on Songbooks, an album consisting of forgotten songs from the low lands and with voices from the High North.

After three albums with instrumental music from the eighteen hundreds, WÖR, was looking for a little bit of extra spice. A-capella group Kongero and their mesmerizing voices answered that call. Together they dived into old songbooks and LPs, in search of forgotten gems and soon after, they saw connections between the repertoire and their own musical traditions. The newly found nine headed band created new arrangements, while keeping the pure essence of the old stories and melodies alive. Enjoy an immersive and energetic evening with a unique nine headed band featuring vocals, violin, accordion, guitar, bagpipes and saxophones.
