Samba Touré is one of Mali's finest guitarists. He grew up in the Timbuktu region and is considered the musical heir to the legendary Ali Farka Touré, the 'king of desert blues' who died in 2006.
In 2013, Samba Touré made his international breakthrough with his album Albala, followed by Gandadiko (2015), Wande (2018) and Binga (2021). At 30 cc, he presents his latest album Baarakelaw, again featuring a harmonious blend of West African river blues, traditional Songhaï themes and Western elements. Now wonderfully mellow, then powerful and rock-ish, but always infectious.
