Trio for piano, violin and cello, op. 49
Already during his lifetime, Mendelssohn was considered one of the greatest European composers and one of the greatest musical geniuses of the 19th century. He is perhaps best known for his symphonies, but his chamber music includes many masterpieces, including his first Trio, Op. 49, which earned him the title “Mozart of the 19th century”.
