Bouts is back! After more than five centuries, the Flemish Master Dieric Bouts returns to Leuven with the New Horizons / Dieric Bouts Festival. We start the festival with a takeover of the Leuven streets and place the public space in a different perspective. Together with a lot of associations, we welcome you on Saturday 30 September on a day of celebration, visions of the future and 3D street art.

3D MURAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY

The world-famous street artist Leon Keer creates a monumental 3D mural, inspired by the work of Dieric Bouts. You can bring this painting to life via an augmented reality app and discover a new vision of the future. (The mural will remain on display after the festival.)

KEYNOTES: A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON

Experts from different domains present a new perspective from their field of work. Get inspired and broaden your horizon! Most talks are in Dutch, except for the presentation for the presentation of Dr. Adilia Yip.

As a marimba player, Adilia Yip searches for new perspectives on her own instrument, which was only born in 1910, in her investigation of the West African balafon tradition. She spoke to players on the spot and made recordings that shed a unique light on the polyrhythmic world of this percussion, in which body language and movement play a decisive role.
