Scapegoat

Scapgegoat takes you to an environment in the inferno, where time stands still and there is no distinction between day and night. Figures with melted faces wander there, so deformed that they seem unidentifiable. Soon their deformation is seen as a deformity and a process of dehumanisation sets in. They have nothing left to lose, and so these scapegoats indulge in their wildest lusts and desires without brakes.

Scapegoat is a dance of desperation driven by violence and eroticism. Inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy and Franz Liszt's Dante Sonata on that canonical epic, Ferenc Balcaen creates an alternative world where your understanding and compassion are challenged to the fullest.

Balcaen has only recently graduated as a director from the RITCS, but is already one of the most promising creators in the Brussels and Flemish performing arts landscape.

This performance contains nudity and scenes that can be read as violent.
