We start with a cantata by David Pohle, a student of the still undervalued composer Heinrich Schütz, and two works by uncles of Johann Sebastian Bach: a sonata by Johann Michael and a wonderful Lamento by Johann Christoph. They're followed by one of Johann Sebastian Bach's rare cantatas in his Weimar period, which completely revolves around the alto solo. In short, a concert on Bach and his references.
