Bartók en Saint-Saëns
Once again this season, the young professionals of veelbeLEUVENd start their concert series with a true feast. Be enchanted by Hungarian folklore in Béla Bartók's dynamic Sonata for two pianos and percussion. The work was unique in its time; never before had a composer written for such an instrumentation. Discover how Bartók brings the percussive possibilities of a piano into close dialogue with the expressive qualities of percussion.
Then, all of this season's veelbeLEUVENd artists gather on stage to perform the lush fauna of Saint-Saëns' Carnaval des Animaux. Be enchanted by this fourteen-part animal carnival, including the beautiful swan song of the cello and the mysterious atmosphere of the aquarium. Kick off this festive season with us in the dazzling finale in which these young talents pull out all the stops - party guaranteed!
