Born as the son of a Moroccan mother and a Polish father, the young Nitai Hershkovits began his musical adventure on clarinet, before switching to piano when he was 15. Passionate about Jazz and jam sessions, his role model was the legendary Sonny Rollins. Nitai played the piano in Avishai Cohen's trio from 2011-2016, until he moved to New York where he joined Oded Tzur's Quartet. With his fifth album, the sublime Call on the Old Wise, he made his debut under the renowned ECM label, home of Keith Jarrett and others.
Marine Horbaczewski, Michel Massot and Tuur Florizoone have known each other for a long time. For nearly 20 years they have been playing together and when they do, they are as one. Everything surprises and inspires: the suppleness with which they spin, the melodic elegance of the compositions and the meticulous precision.
They veer from Nino Rota-like melancholy to lilting pieces, they waltz lightly and flirt with jazz, tango or contemporary classical music. Elephants and mice, overworked civil servants, happy princes and melancholic princesses pop up in your imagination.
After SECRETS, a collaboration with soprano Claron McFadden, and MIXTUUR, Florizoone's ode to the metises born in colonial times, the trio is touring Belgium again, with brand-new compositions from their their third album. Open your ears, your eyes and your heart.
