Music from the time of Dieric Bouts

St. Peter’s Church in Leuven is home to one of the masterpieces of the Flemish Primitives: Altarpiece of the Holy Sacrament by Dirk Bouts. On the occasion of the new urban festival New Horizons, centred around the painter, music composed, sung and played by his contemporary polyphonists reaches the sky along the Gothic vaults.

Voices and instruments fill this beautifully restored church with polyphonic layers or Gregorian simplicity. Sound and architecture interact and bring us back to the time and place Dirk Bouts knew and lived in.
