Ah, l’amour. Sometimes a source of supreme happiness, other times a heart-breaking and all-consuming tragedy. This show will transport you to the sophisticated atmosphere of London cabarets and Parisian salons. Or dream away with some sentimental love songs that seem to have been composed specially for you. Soprano Emma Posman and pianist Florestan Bataillie captivate the audience through an expressive programme.

They have carefully selected some gems from the French and English repertoire of chansons and operas. This concert full of emotions plumbs the depths of love and afterwards, you will surely say: Je veux vivre!

Belgian soprano Emma Posman became world famous in 2018 when she had to stand in for a sick colleague as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute at the Salzburg Festival. Since then, the whole opera world knows that you may expect vocal fireworks from 28-year-old Posman. She has sung wonderful roles at various prestigious European opera houses over the years. She has won awards in many international contests, including the award of the Belgian music press for Young Musician of the Year in 2018.

Pianist-composer Florestan Bataillie has mainly positioned himself as a chamber musician and song accompanier. His piano trio Impression has won the International Storioni Competition for Ensembles at Den Bosch (NL). He has actively collaborated with bass-baritone Werner Van Mechelen and the award winning Desguin String Quartet. In addition to performing, he also produces shows and has collaborated with Flemish actors Stefaan Degand and Vic De Wachter. Together with his brother, violinist Ludovic, he is one of the artistic leaders of the Meander Festival in the Lys–Scheldt Cultural Region.
