INUIT presents Minla & VLIEGWERK

INUIT is a Leuven-based concert organisation that supports promising artists. As part of Leuven Jazz, they are presenting this atmospheric, dreamy double bill.

Minla (8.00 – 8.45 p.m.)

Minla is a Belgian band consisting of singer Mirte Leconte and trumpeter Marthe van Droogenbroeck. Their music revolves around vocals and trumpet, taking you on a dreamy, atmospheric journey. Influences from jazz, electronica, and alternative pop create a unique, cinematic sound.

VLIEGWERK (9.15 – 10.00 p.m.)

VLIEGWERK is an instrumental band featuring Steven Cassiers (Dans Dans, Bram Weijters' Crazy Men, Dez Mona, etc.) on drums, Wout Gooris (Sam Joris, Eva De Roovere, Fien Desmet, etc.) on synths, Indian harmonium, and throat singing and Tim Finoulst (Bert Joris, Tutu Puoane, etc.) on pedal steel.

At the heart of the group lies the pedal steel, which imbues the compositions with vast, open landscapes. The focused and concentrated energy of the drums and synths propel the music relentlessly forward. Sporadic throat singing gives the music an almost hypnotic quality. Live, VLIEGWERK effortlessly switches between introspective moments and energetic passages, creating a compelling atmosphere.

Both concerts will take place in a standing club setting.
