Timeless: a word that is too often applied to too many things, but in the case of The Great American Songbook, it is entirely appropriate! The many iconic standards written in the United States in the 20th century are just that: timeless.

Great names such as Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Dionne Warwick have made their mark on our collective memory. Even today, young artists, ensembles or choirs are rediscovering the potential and, above all, the pleasure of this music.

The Flemish Radio Choir continues this tradition: after the earlier success of The Great American Songbook: 20s-40s, the choir is now shining a light on the next generation of composers. Timeless hits from the 50s and 60s such as Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head or Ain't No Mountain High Enough are given a new vocal twist thanks to composer Jeroen D'hoe's brilliant choral arrangements. Together they form a living soundtrack to the vibrant post-war years, an era when music embodied the dreams and optimism of a generation.

Join us for a glorious evening of musical gems such as I Say a Little Prayer, Big Spender and (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the colourful fifties and sixties and enjoy the Radio Choir version of these unforgettable songs.

Jeroen D'hoe writes the arrangements and Ibernice MacBean sings the lead vocals.
