Carrying my father is a poetic and physical performance on the border of circus and dance, about carrying and being carried. About holding on and letting go. About fragile strength and playful rivalry. On stage are four circus performers with their fathers. Eight grown men meeting, testing and lifting each other.
Eight bodies that are not equally strong, but equally powerful in their individuality and interaction. They discover the challenges of growing older and the richness of working together. Fathers and sons among themselves. Central is the realisation: as the father carried the son, so the son will one day carry the father.
