Borys Ljatosjynsky (1894-1968)
Pianotrio nr. 2, op. 41
The Susato Trio was recently formed and got noticed in December 2022 by winning the first prize in the Génération Classique competition of Festivals de Wallonie. This young trio invites us to discover two Ukrainian composers from the first half of the 20th century.
Vassyl Barvinsky, one of the first Ukrainian composers to gain worldwide recognition, was considered the leader of Ukrainian musical life in his time. Ljatosjynsky, six years his junior, met with great success, especially in Russia. His music is marked by the influence of the Russian classical school, but also by its affinities with Slavic folklore.
