Jean-Joseph Mouret (1682-1738)
Motets
Airs à danser
Second concert de chambre
Although little known today, Jean-Joseph Mouret was one of the favourite composers under the Régence (1715-1723). He is one of the key composers in the transition between Lully and Rameau. Better than Campra, who ultimately remains in the tradition of Lully, Mouret heralds the arrival of the baroque masterpieces by Rameau and Gluck, as well as the future successes of the opéra comique and the symphony. Ensemble La Française lets us discover some of his unpublished motets and excerpts from his instrumental music.
