The old world is coming to an end. The new world is at our doorstep. All over the world, conflicts are raging and people are trying to break free from old structures or return to them. Some people cling frenetically to the old and resist any change out of fear and anger. Another group looks ahead, but seems to forget what was good about the past.

Vier Muren is a hip-hop ritual that creates space for the anger, fear, mourning, celebration and hope that comes with losing an old world and welcoming an unknown future. A bizarre musical mix of hip-hop mantras, slam choruses, screeching guitars, banging drums and freestyle prophecies.

In the round

The theatre-in-the-round is a special arrangement, where the stage is at the heart of the space, surrounded by seats. This layout creates a more intense, shared experience between actors and gallery due to its proximity. The audience feels involved differently, by seeing not only the actors, but also each other.

This arrangement was already popular in ancient Greece and still offers an intense experience.

In the new performing arts site, makers will be able to use this In the round setup on a large scale. This is why 30CC is launching this series as a glimpse into the future, but in miniature. For three weeks, we will set up the Predikherenkerk as an In the round theatre, with its own foyer.
