The Coo

There is something truly magical about music. Especially when two musicians find each other. And something special happens when they play together.
One such example is the combination of British musician Matt Arthur and Dutch musician Jara Holdert. They met by accident in 2016 during a shared concert in Amsterdam. They listened to each other’s music and felt like they had known each other for years. Pure magic was created when they first played together. It was obvious they had fun playing together. The Coo was created.
The warm, melancholic love songs are reminiscent of sixties and seventies folk and pop music, as well as artists such as Carole King & James Taylor, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and contemporary artists such as Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion as well as Angus & Julia Stone.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, they released their first EP, Amsterdam Moon, which was recorded live in late 2019.
