From English composer John Dowland to Lebanese singer Fairuz! Flemish lute player Sofie Vanden Eynde and Iraqi oud player Saad Mahmood Jawad combine their favourite compositions and improvise on baroque base lines and Arabic maqams.
In the western world, the muses are said to inspire artists, while in the Arab world, invisible creatures such as jinn make your deepest wishes come true. They take hold of the imagination and conjure up worlds which no-one has ever thought impossible.
