Get Off

Katy Baird!
Fri 27/02/2026 - 20:00

Discover the bizarre, radical and inclusive oeuvre of British artist Katy Baird!

The human brain registers all pleasure in the same way – be it a delicious meal, a sexual sensation, a recreational drug or heart emojis on Instagram ... But how good do we really feel about all this consumption?

In Get Off, you follow Katy Baird, dedicated pleasure seeker and self-proclaimed hot-mess, as she reveals her journey to pursuing pleasure. This performance is her first collaboration and the start of a longer trajectory with CAMPO.

For this creation, she calls on the artistic eye of Kim Noble. With a similar fearlessness as we saw in Noble's Lullaby for Scavengers, and her signature humour and honesty, Baird offers a raw and unfiltered insight into the human need for distraction, exploring the depths of our desires and questioning the autonomy we have in choosing where we seek it.

Jump for joy - A weekend that will make you happy.

The frog is an unassuming animal, often found in a ditch or puddle of water as the rain falls. Suddenly it jumps up. This leaping frog symbolises an unexpected burst of life after a period of adversity. As the frog jumps out of the ditch, so can we. That is why the leaping frog is the symbol of this theme weekend.

There lies great power in approaching the world with an optimistic, yet nuanced view, through the eyes of the arts. We tell stories that make you realise that true joy is rooted in loss. Joy can only exist in the awareness of suffering, because without suffering, joy is not conceivable. This is the starting point of the performances we present during this theme weekend.
