Leuven-based Clairval is the composer of haunting soundtracks for film and TV. His music defined the atmosphere of the award-winning documentary series Het Scheldepeloton (VRT Canvas, awarded with Humo’s Ha! 2021) and brought the beats to life in Zillion, The Lost Tapes, the best-watched series on Streamz in 2023.

From pulsating electronic music to contemporary classical vibes: Clairval moves effortlessly between genres, with ambient as a common thread. His atmospheric reworking of Paul Kalkbrenner's Sky and Sand went viral, with more than 750,000 Spotify streams so far, and the chilling soundtrack for the true crime Waar is Elke Wevers? (VRT 1) exudes the dark atmosphere of a Nordic noir series. Other TV productions are also eagerly picking up his work.

In December, Clairval will perform live for the very first time. You can expect an immersive, warmly crackling soundtrack full of ambient and contemporary sounds. The perfect musical embrace to usher in winter.

In the round

The theatre-in-the-round is a special arrangement, where the stage is at the heart of the space, surrounded by seats. This layout creates a more intense, shared experience between actors and gallery due to its proximity. The audience feels involved differently, by seeing not only the actors, but also each other.

This arrangement was already popular in ancient Greece and still offers an intense experience.

In the new performing arts site, makers will be able to use this In the round setup on a large scale. This is why 30CC is launching this series as a glimpse into the future, but in miniature. For three weeks, we will set up the Predikherenkerk as an In the round theatre.
