Before the Lake

A mystical evening concert at sunset where ancient music and live electronics inspire each other. Musical enchantment that makes the listener dream and still for a moment, hold their breath.

Soprano Noémie Schellens and sound artist Joost Van Duppen, with guitarist Maarten Vandenbemden and Berlinde Deman on the serpent, create a concert about breath and voice, nature and electronics, baroque and contemporary, where everything flows together in a musical introspective journey. 

The environment becomes their scene: birds landing on the lake, the sky changing colour, a ripple on the water.
The source, the origin is elusive and impossible to identify. Water as a carrier of sound waves with an undercurrent of melancholy and hope.

This seated concert will take place in the open air.
