Backbone

Ten Australian acrobats and two musicians challenge each other surrounded by a scenery of wooden poles, stones, earth and buckets. The performers test each other's strength and endurance through breathtaking acrobatics. They blow the audience away with scenes ranging from poetic to spectacular and humorous. The world famous Gravity & Other Myths has already played Backbone in 23 different countries.

GOM brings a unique version of circus theatre, continuously pushing their own limits as well as those of the circus. In Out of Chaos, they demonstrate their strength and vulnerability in a seamlessly choreographed show. GOM combines virtuoso techniques with humour and a star role for the musician in an original and spontaneous spectacle.

You may remember the Australian troupe Gravity & Other Myths (GOM) from A Simple Space, a top performance they presented at the first edition of CIRKL in 2017. In 2023, they revisited Leuven with their show Out of Chaos in an sold-out 30CC/Schouwburg.
