In Argentina, everything can be changed, except the tango. Astor Piazzolla did so anyway, and he became the greatest in the genre. If there was anyone who put tango nuevo on the world map, it was this obstinate, stubborn wanderer. Among his best-known works are compositions like Libertango, Oblivión and Adiós Nonino, which everyone recognises.

Accordionist Christophe Delporte and his fantastic ensemble Astoria follow in the footsteps of Astor Piazzolla by playing his uplifting music. This vibrant, captivating music, full of love, pain, hope and melancholy, draws you into a stream of sensations, deep into the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Dante and Monik Dominguez, who have performed together for more than 10 years, will dance the tango. The exceptional chemistry between them reflects the passion and intimacy of the tango.

Part 1: ASTORIA classic & movies

In the afternoon part we first honor the instrumental universe of Astor Piazzolla with the standards of the tango nuevo. In the second set we dive into the world of the film music of the Argentine grandmaster.

In the evening part you also get two sets. With singer Jennifer Scavuzzo we first focus on the poetic songs of Piazzolla, many of which are set to magnificent lyrics by Horacio Ferrer.
This is followed by sensual dance music with demonstrations by the breathtaking tango couple Monik and Dante Dominguez (Eguimodanz).
