Platform In De Maak touches down at 30CC on Saturday June 15 2024, with new work in progress performances by emerging makers. This is just one of the six makersdagen organised by Platform In De Maak with the makers of their development trajectory and in collaboration with KVS, c o r s o, De Grote Post, CC Het Gasthuis, CC De Kern and 30CC.

From afternoon until evening, a new generation of makers will not only take over the theatre hall of Het Wagenhuys, but also De Romaanse Poort and the Predikherenkerk with various projects. Prepare for the unexpected, as these makers share their work which is young and still in de maak but eager to be showcased to an audience.

Platform In De Maak facilitates an eighteen-month creation trajectory (2023-2025) for eighteen emerging makers. During this trajectory, the entire artistic operation is a collective responsibility of the emerging makers who connect with each other and with the arts field in a horizontal manner, based on the principle of 'those who engage and organise, create'. The makersdagen (one at Het Gasthuis, the other five spread across Flanders) are part of this artist-run development trajectory. On these days, everyone is invited to get a first glimpse of the new work that has emerged from the trajectory.

Immerse yourself in a generation of upcoming talent and discover what the future of performing arts holds! Keep an eye on the website and social media for more information!

As an organisation, Platform In De Maak’s mission is to create space for the presentation, development, and needs of emerging performing artists in Flanders and Brussels. In this way, Platform In De Maak aims to contribute to building a supportive and sustainable arts field.

The current makers:

Anna Schlooz, Arno Knapen, Arthur Decock, Audrey Apers, Carla Parcianello, Jenneke Slaets, Johannes Lievens, Jonathan van der Horst, Jorien Onsia, Katrien van Cappellen, Laura Fonteyn, Margot Timmermans, Mimi Wascher, Pierre Bastin, Rosslyn Wythes, Steffi van Bokhoven, Sym Asher van Wezemael, and Valeria Secchi.

Four of these makers will showcase their work at 30CC during this makersdag. Get to know the work of the other makers by tuning into the five other makersdagen.

In 2025, Platform In De Maak alongside STUK and OPEK will organise a festival in Leuven where you can celebrate the outcome of the works made by all eighteen makers.
