Electric Life
Choreographers Elisabeth Borgermans and Thomas Vantuycom give a contemporary twist to Igor Stravinsky's Petrushka together with 9 young people aged between 15 and 24.
They did not start from the original staging from 1911, but from an in-depth analysis of the music. Stravinsky's penchant for contrast, rhythm and momentum was typical of modern man at the beginning of the previous century, when electricity and machines changed the urban streetscape and when life became electrified in various ways.
