In the Middle Ages, bells in villages and towns warned of all kinds of dangers that threatened the community: fire, thunderstorms, an approaching enemy. The carillon, on the other hand, served for public entertainment.

On April 21, however, the 63 bells of the carillon in the tower of the University Library exceptionally play the role of alarm bells: they sound a warm alarm!

To listen in the Surrounding of the Ladeuzeplein, live stream via Facebook group Library Carillon and YouTube channel Singing bronze.
