Tender Men is a dance performance about touch and male sensitivity, about human contact and fearlessness, about its beauty and its poetry, as well as chaos and misunderstandings. Tender Men confuses and fascinates, antagonises and triggers.
Choreographer Koen De Preter creates a universe around masculinity and its sensitivities. He asks himself how men would interact with each other in a world without homophobia. The dancers – from Mali, Taiwan, Estonia and Belgium – are a source of inspiration full of counter colours. Their unique personalities contrast and complement one another and combine the tough with the sensual. Tender Men is simultaneously moving, filmic, abstract, spherical – and recognisable. Everything and everyone can coexist.
