The Self-Strewn Portrait - cd release concert
In order to slow down the spread of the corona virus, this show is cancelled. If you have tickets for this event, 30CC will inform you personally about further actions. Ticket holders do not have to take any action themselves for the time being.
South-Korean drummer Sun-Mi Hong started at the age of 17 and she went to Howon University at 19.
Afterwards, she left for Amsterdam to study at the Conservatory.
Moving to Europe completely changed her perspective on life and music.
Partially because of tutors/percussionists like Martijn Vink and Marcel Seriese she became more and more interested in jazz.
She started listening to Brian Blade, Ari Hoenig and Roy Haynes and worked hard on her own compositions.
In 2017, she released her debut album and also won the 'B-Jazz International Contest' with the Dahood Salim Quintet.
With her own band, she won the 'Sena Dutch Jazz Competition' in 2018, which resulted in her first appearance at 'North Sea Jazz Festival'. In 2019, she was elected Young VIP in the Netherlands, alike singer Sanne Rambags.
During 'Leuven Jazz', she launches her new album 'The Self-Strewn Portrait'.
This free lunch concert is a prime occasion to discover it live!
with Sun-Mi Hong (drums and composition), Nicolo Ricci (tenor saxophone), Alistair Payne (trumpet), Young-Woo Lee (piano) and Alessandro Fongaro (bass)
