Aspen Label Night
as part of JazzLab
On this occasion, JazzLab is not presenting a band but a label.
Aspen Edities is a small, independent record company founded by musicians Ruben Machtelinckx and Niels Van Heertum and writer Sanne Huysmans which has made a name for itself with wonderfully designed releases. The music on this label moves between jazz and improvisation, contemporary classical, pop and folk influences and electronic music.
Its releases have always been enthusiastically received in Belgium and abroad, and its Porous Structures quartet album has recently been awarded a prize by radio station Klara for best Belgian jazz album of 2019.
One of the label’s flagships, the Veder quartet, will present their second album during this label night. The second part of the show will feature different line-ups with other musicians who are linked to the label.
