Sharing is Scary
From 12 December - 16 December '22 THERE Company and CIRKLABO organise a second edition of Sharing is Scary; a five-day practical exchange of circus creation, by and for circus artists and creators.
Three circus artists share their practice straight from the rehearsal studio: forms of work and methods of creation. We meet on the floor and talk about it afterwards. We exchange methods and tools, look for what unites us and how we differ. The last day of the week we reflect on our actions and findings, with the help of a dramaturge, who will be following us throughout the week.
- When? 12 - 16 december, 9h30 - 16h
- Where? Wagehuys, Brusselsestraat 63, 3000 Leuven
- Who? For professional circus artists and creators, with concrete experience in creating their own work. You can apply from 12 September '22 with a short CV & motivation. Attention: first come, first serve. Places are very limited!
- Free, lunch provided
First edition Sharing is Scary
The first edition took place from 8 to 12 November 2021 in Leuven with as 'sharing' artists: Grensgeval (Hanne Vandersteene and Mahlu Mertens), Hendrik Van Maele (Familiar faces) and THERE THERE Company (Toon Van Gramberen and Hanna Mampuys). Accompanied by dramaturge Marie Peeters.
About THERE THERE Company
THERE THERE Company is a contemporary circus company led by Toon Van Gramberen and Hanna Mampuys. They go for a strong and meaningful circus, rough and real, with a focus on the performer and the message rather than on the trick. Starting from the circus discipline hand to hand acrobatics, the interaction of bodies form the base of their physical language.
