ZOMER VAN SINT-PIETER: ENSEMBLE CÉLADON (week 2 - Musica Sacra)
Ensemble Céladon celebrates a century of music … composed during a century of war. While France and England were fighting a pointless and cruel war, the people sang and prayed like never before. This 14th century English music is simple in design, often times with very folksy inspirations, and perfectly illustrates the diversity of music and poetry of a confusing period in time, one that bounced back and forth between dark barbarism and fresh naivety.
