THE SOUND OF C - SUCH IS TIME
music knows how to surpass time and space. Dutch top cellist Pieter
Wispelwey knows that all too well. From Bach to works composed by
himself: in music, emotion is what counts.
The red thread throughout all of this is Mass in g for double choir by Ralph Vaughan Williams: composed just after World War I, but based on the old English polyphony.
With choir and cello works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Tavener, Benjamin Britten, Rudi Tas, James MacMillan and Herbert Howells.
This concert is part of the afternoon programme of The Sound of C - Cello Day at Keizersberg. It will take place in the abbey itself.
