In this theme week on Beethoven’s string quartets, Taurus Quartet will perform a major work from the so-called ‘first period’ of the composer: the sixth and final quartet of opus 18.
Although clearly influenced by Haydn and Mozart, this composition is highly original and ends on that mysterious, compelling movement, entitled Malinconia by Beethoven himself.
