Over the last few years, we have seen distressing scenes of refugees flooding into Europe. Muziekpublique brings together ten virtuoso musicians who fled Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tibet, and eventually ended up in Belgium. They brought a rich musical heritage and in some cases their instruments with them.

Their songs tell the tale of their home countries and their journey to the West. The innovative album Amerli symbolises the intercultural meetings in a diverse society and has not gone unnoticed: Flemish newspaper De Standaard gave it four stars and upon its release it ranked eighth in the Transglobal World Music Charts.

More information about the extensive programme will be available in the autumn of 2017.
