Piano Day #19
Within the scope of Piano Day, an annual initiative initiated by Nils Frahm, three pianists explore the boundary between classical and contemporary compositions. Norwegian Otto A. Totland has a knack of captivating his audience and creating a unique nightly atmosphere with his ethereal piano sound. His music is a kind of acoustic form of ambient which can be best described as contemplative. Pianist Lisa Morgenstern is a delight to the eyes and ears. Composing is a way for her to cleanse her soul. She is currently in the process of launching her new album Chameleon in collaboration with Argentinian producer and cellist Sebastian Plano. Lisa Morgenstern combines voice and piano, drama and ambition, intimacy and tension.
The name of the third pianist will be announced at the start of 2019.
