PASSIE VAN DE STEMMEN: RUCKERS ME FECIT ANTVERPIAE
exceptionally beautiful programme in which young pianist Mario
Sarrechia performs polyphonic vocal works of the 16th century,
adapted for piano for this occasion.
In the House of Polyphony he revitalizes this rich repertoire using a magnificent reproduction of a mother-and-child virginal (two pianos). This one was lovingly crafted by Jef Van Boven in accordance with the practices of famous piano builder Andreas Ruckers. Across the globe, only a few of these mother-and-child virginals have been preserved.
This concert is part of the Voices of Passion festival.
