PASSIE VAN DE STEMMEN: NICOLAS GOMBERT
researcher Stratton Bull accompanies the Park Collegium in the
wondrous world of Nicolas Gombert (1495-1560). Despite being an
illustrious unknown to many, Gombert may very well have been the most
famous Franco-Flemish polyphonist in all of Europe, after Josquin des Prez.
His exhaustive compositional style is a prelude to the complex fugal
work of the baroque period.
Park Collegium is the home ensemble of the Alamire Foundation and resides in the House of Polyphony. It is a polyvalent group of excellent singers who sing, study and perform vocal music all year round.
This concert is part of the Voices of Passion festival.
