A chronicle of our time, in big and small stories. Against the background of a mine closure and the moon landing, free love and the oil crisis, carless Sundays and political turmoil, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the banking crisis, we follow a generation of friends in a small town. They discover life, love and a constantly changing world.

Danielle is a young medical student. Her meeting with the intractable yet charismatic professor Julia Sporken will steer her life in a new direction. Collier Luc, known to his friends as Luckieluc, decides to go to university after a forced retirement at the age of 38. His friend Michel gets involved in fraudulent investment practices.
