Le lacrime delle donne
French top soprano Claire Lefilliâtre, the former leading lady of Le Poème Harmonique, presents a recital full of Baroque emotions. Together with keyboardist Stéphane Fuget, she browses through the virtuoso literature from 17th-century Italy, from Claudio Monteverdi’s Salve Regina to Giovanni Felice Sances’s sublime Stabat Mater. Isn’t it astounding that the deep sorrow of a mother and the grief of a disciple have resulted in such wonderful music?
