Landschap met radioactieve honden
In a laboratory on Long Island, dogs are exposed to radioactive radiation. When one dog escapes and mutates, a series of scenes unfolds, connecting seemingly unrelated characters: a Norwegian scientist and his wife, a caretaker who buries the dogs, a young art photographer, and the goddess of vengeance, Athena. A performance in which the boundaries between human and animal begin to blur.
Landschap met radioactieve honden (Landscape with radioactive dogs) is inspired by episodes from Hjort’s family history and an attempt to give non-human perspectives a place on stage. With poetic, raw language and a chorus of voices, he creates a haunting performance about the unbearable consequences of human actions. It raises confrontational questions about scientific ethics, power, and collective responsibility. Who ultimately pays the price for progress? And who speaks on behalf of those who have no voice?
