CANCELLED

This concert was originally planned on March 24th, 2020 (in the realm of Leuven Jazz 2020), but was postponed due to the coronavirus

In the meantime, it has - unfortunately - become clear that it will be impossible to organise this new concert under the current corona measures. We remain in contact with Isolde and her band and hope to invite them again in 2021.

But of course, this option remains highly uncertain for the time being.
Therefore, ticket holders will receive an email with all details to turn back their ticket(s).

SHE'S ON THE JAZZ

30CC gives Isolde Lasoen (Daan, Isolde & Les Bens, ...) carte blanche for a new creation.

As a jazz drummer, Isolde has a huge predilection for the contagious swing from the hard bop era, a fancy for catchy melodies and funky horns, but at the same time she totally 'digs' the melancholy or minimalism in jazz. She will browse the rich jazz repertoire and serves interpretations of songs by Buddy Rich big band, Brad Mehldau, Lee Morgan, Nina Simone and many others.

From cool jazz to bossa nova, from hard bop to rhythm-and-blues, from Blue Note classics to groovy instrumentals, from a small cast to a full band with horn section ... Isolde & Friends will present a fine selection in jazz, with huge respect for the genre and far from the beaten tracks.

She has composed an all-star band, and also invites some remarkable guest performers:

Singer Gregory Frateur (Dez Mona) is a notorious fan of Nina Simone.

Bert Ostyn (Absynthe Minded) and Naomi Sijmoens (Reena Riot) are well-known in the Belgian pop & rock scene but will surprise you with their jazz voices.

Additionally, three young female artists will join Isolde in the spotlights: kora player Lubiana and promising vocalist Elizabeth Atieno.
