I'm (not) Every Woman is a poetic, rhythmic, sensual, topical and activist show about womanhood and the power of female communities in these times. Musical inspiration, stories and experiences of female communities ‘on the outskirts of towns, in the heart of society’ have inspired the show.

Driven by the dynamic accompaniment of Ragazze Quartet, Lilian Farahani (soprano) and Rachel Rumai Diaz (spoken word) use songs and poetry to pay tribute to women whose voices are all too often not heard.

Music by Iranian-Dutch composer Aftab Darvishi represents both the Western tradition and music from non-Western cultures. Her oeuvre is ethereal and atmospheric, with a wide range of timbres and nuances. The texts were written by Rachel Rumai Diaz.

We go on a journey to discover the harmonic power of sisterhood, along the sometimes painful necessity of the existence of these safe spaces to a clash of incomprehension and differences.

Ragazze Quartet plays classical and contemporary string quartets: inspired and at the highest level. With high-profile programmes, the quartet has developed into one of the most innovative and trend-setting voices in classical music.

Press

‘… a physical, rhythmic power that comes from deep within the Ragazze Quartet. Together, they play chords as if their hands and arms are controlled by a single brain.’ (*****De Volkskrant)
