The island looked quite deserted. The seasons were one of the first things to disappear.

Since then, all trees have been at sixes and sevens. Some are budding, others are shedding their leaves and one is in full bloom. The plants, animals and things that have vanished have left visible and tangible gaps throughout the island.

On a mountain top, a woman and a rock are staring at the waves. A few days ago, the birds disappeared as well. Now it is remarkably quiet on the island. They are both thinking about what to say to the other: “Nice weather, isn’t it?” or “How are things in your head?”

Sunset has almost arrived. They look forward to the night. Anything is possible at night. The things that have vanished return for a short while at night.

An intimate object and puppet theatre show about topics such as the search for rest and solitude, the urge to live close to nature and the impact of humans on their environment.

Eiland is loosely based on the books I Am An Island by Tamsin Calidas and The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa.
