Composer Heinrich Schütz died in 1672 at the age of 87. Thanks to his high-quality music, he is considered the most influential precursor of Johann Sebastian Bach. A very remarkable and important work is Die Historia der Auferstehung Jesu Christi, which tells the tale of Christ’s Resurrection.
Ten singers interpret the different characters in a concertato style and the instrumental accompaniment is very expressive and sober: four viols and an organ.
