Bach’s famous 'Cello Suites' have been set to a modern arrangement by young Scottish composer Peter Gregson. He performs them together with an ensemble of five other cellists, in an ever changing line-up and with a subtle electronic foundation. Gregson is one of the most celebrated British cellists and contemporary composers. He has already released three solo albums and composed and played various soundtracks. He has worked together with Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Gabriel Prokofiev and was an acclaimed performer at our first edition of 'The Sound of C'.
The second set is a unique occasional project in a nordic atmosphere, developed during People Festival in Berlin (with the Dessner brothers from The National). Guitarist Bert Cools and kankles player Indré Jurgelevičiūté are joined by former Sigur Rós keyboard player Kjartan Sveinsson and Múm member Gyda Valtysdottir and bring drummer Shahzad Ismaily (who has collaborated with Marc Ribot and John Zorn) along.
