Good news for the fans of Nino Haratischwili! We have once again invited the internationally renowned author of The Eighth Life and The Cat and the General to Leuven. She will present her new novel with the working title The Lack of Light.

Haratischwili (1983) has written several award-winning novels and plays. She studied film direction in Tbilisi and theatre direction in Hamburg. She is fluent in two languages and has written both in German and in Georgian since she was twelve. Her debut novel, Juja, was nominated for the German Book Prize and won the Buddenbrookhaus Debut Prize. For her bestseller The Eighth Life (for Brilka), she received the Anna Seghers Prize as well as the PEN Translates Award, and the novel was longlisted for the prestigious International Booker Prize in 2020. Her previous novel The Cat and the General has also become a worldwide success.
