Lecture in English. Jennifer Egan will read from her own work.

The American author Jennifer Egan has published five novels and a collection of short stories. Her debut novel, The Invisible Circus, was made into a feature film starring Cameron Diaz and the postmodern The Keep was inspired by Egan’s visit to Bouillon castle. While her fourth novel, A Visit from the Goon Squad is set in the 1980s music scene. With this novel, Egan won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. In her last novel, Manhattan Beach, she tells the story of the first female diver in New York in the early 1940s.

About Rudy Trouvé

It’s no coincidence that Rudy Trouvé will make a musical contribution to this evening, since he is an avid reader of Egan’s work. He was e.g. obsessed completely by her book A Visit from the Goon Squad. Rudy Trouvé is an ex-member of both dEUS and Dead Man Ray and he runs his own label Heaven Hotel. He sees himself as a DIY-artist and as a bad guitarist slash sound fetishist. His guitar sound is quite unique and all of this makes him one of the most respected artists within the Belgian music scene.
