Is your toddler or pre-schooler also fascinated by all sorts of creepy crawlies? Is he/she curious about the insects that can be found under each stone? This surprising and stimulating multimedia film concert shows old footage with insects playing the leading part!

You can find hundreds of creepy crawlies on every square metre. Cute, icky, tiny and fascinating: insects are all that! We think we know them, but they keep on surprising us. Flies taste with their feet, but they cannot hear us. The chirr of crickets sounds lovely when they’re alone, but in a group they turn into voracious killing machines.

De Spiegel juggles with the roots of cinema: the Lumière brothers and the first film experiments by artists and scientists. In film archives and museums, they discovered old film fragments featuring insects. In Allemaal beestjes, bugs crawl over multiple screens and artful objects with musical and theatrical accompaniment by a harpist and a violinist.
