Led by cornetto player Adrien Mabire, La Guilde des Mercenaires takes us on a journey from Rome to Venice in the early 16th century. This was a crucial period in which instrumental music broke free from its role as an accompaniment to polyphony and the voice flourished expressively above the basso continuo.
